Editorial standards
Accuracy, sourcing and corrections.
The American Take publishes reporting, analysis and opinion. The format may vary, but readers should be able to understand what is factual reporting, what is interpretation, and what is editorial judgment.
Sourcing
Material factual claims should be supported by reliable evidence. When an article relies on another publication, public record, study, video, document or dataset, we should identify or link the source when practical and legally appropriate.
Originality
We do not publish scraped or lightly rewritten copies of other publishers' work. External material may inform coverage, but our published work should add original reporting, synthesis, analysis, context or commentary.
Corrections
Material factual errors should be corrected promptly and transparently. A substantive correction should identify what changed when doing so helps readers understand the record. Minor spelling, grammar and formatting fixes may be made without a correction note when they do not change meaning.
Advertising separation
Paid placements, sponsorships and native advertising must be clearly disclosed. Advertisers may buy distribution or inventory; they do not buy undisclosed editorial control.
